New Delhi : Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday convened a meeting with all Members of Parliament from Delhi on the preparations being done to fight the coronavirus pandemic.

In a meeting held through video conferencing, Kejriwal said that the ‘Delhi Model’ of fighting the viral disease has been possible due to the collective efforts and support from all political parties, MPs and MLAs.

“I have been holding meetings with all the Delhi MLAs, MPs for the last few days. Met several MLAs in the last two days, and spoke to all MPs today. If we continue to get such cooperation, we will soon be able to defeat Corona,” he said in a tweet.

Asserting that the pandemic cannot be fought alone, he claimed that the reason why the ‘Delhi Model’ of fighting coronavirus has been possible and successful is that all the parties and their members rose above their political affiliations and worked collectively to combat the virus.

The foundation of the ‘Delhi Model’ is collectivity and teamwork, he said, adding that in the time of this pandemic, the Central government, hotels, private hospitals, banquet halls, NGOs, and religious and cultural organisations have come out in support.

The Chief Minister also said that the battle against coronavirus should continue, and they cannot be complacent in their fight.

In Thursday’s meeting, all the MPs briefed Kejriwal on significant steps being taken in their areas.

All the MPs unanimously said that they are with the Delhi government and will take all possible steps to save the people of Delhi from this pandemic.

In the last month, Delhi has seen a huge decline in the death rate and positivity ratio. Initiatives such as increased testing, home isolation protocol, increasing medical infrastructure, increased number of beds, and teamwork on behalf of various stakeholders have reduced the impact of the disease.
