SHILLONG: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Meghalaya observed the 185th death anniversary of U Tirot Sing Syiem across the state districts on Friday.
Different units of the ABVP in Khasi, Jaintia and Garo Hills followed all health protocols related to COVID-19 while observing the occasion.
Speaking about the freedom fighter in Jowai, ABVP Meghalaya state secretary, Darilin Tang, said U Tirot Sing will occupy a place of honour and reverences in our hearts forever.
“He will be remembered for his contributions, and as a source of inspiration to the people of the country. He will continue to inspire generations, especially the students and youth, for his struggle for the freedom of our country,” Darilin said.
