Earnings elude Motphran vendors

SHILLONG: Vendors at Motphran have complained of not getting their usual day’s earnings after they were disallowed from carrying on their business in the area.
A vendor told this reporter that they were asked to move away.
“We were carrying the articles in our hands and did not spread it on the ground, but still we were chased away”, she said.
She added that officials from the district administration, police department and members of the Dorbar Hynriew Shnong were also present. “Some of them even told the customers to not buy anything from us”, she said.
Asked, she informed that many vendors were affected as they could not operate as before.
