Washington: Over 60 per cent of voters in the US trust Anthony Fauci, the country’s top infectious diseases expert, but not President Donald Trump when it came to information on the COVID-19 pandemic, a new poll has revealed.

The Quinnipiac University Poll released on Wednesday showed that 67 percent of registered voters surveyed do not trust information Trump provides on the pandemic, while 30 per cent do, reports The Hill news website.

Meanwhile, 65 per cent have said they trusted Fauci, while 26 per cent distrust the information he provides.

The poll came as the White House reportedly stepped up efforts to discredit Fauci, reports Xinhua news agency. (IANS)
