Rs 16 cr released for 3,113 EPF claims

SHILLONG: The Provident Fund Office, Shillong, on Tuesday said that it has released Rs. 16 crore for 3,113 claims during the current COVID-19 crisis.
A statement from the Provident Fund Office, Shillong, on Tuesday said that it has settled 3,113 claims and disbursed more than Rs 16 crore till date. So far, 1505 claims have been settled for COVID-19 and Rs 5.32 crore has been disbursed.
In a statement, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, KK Srivastava, on Tuesday said that exempted establishment under EPFO, Shillong such as Neepco, Shillong and Meghalaya Apex Bank Ltd have settled total 403 COVID-19 claims and disbursed Rs 6.21 crore.
Srivastava also said that out of 660 number of PMGKY eligible establishments, 248 establishments have paid ECR.
