Senior doctor tests positive for COVID-19 in Shillong Civil Hospital

GUWAHATI: In the wake of a senior doctor in Civil Hospital, Shillong testing positive for COVID-19 on July 22, the Health Department of Meghalaya has taken following precautionary measures going for extensive testing of high-risk as well as secondary contacts of the doctor.

Accordingly, the movement of visitors at the Civil Hospital has been restricted for the next few days; the Outpatient Department (OPD) will remain closed on July 24 and only emergency service will remain open ; sampling of returnees and other external contacts will not be conducted at the hospital on July 24 to facilitate sampling of the remaining contacts of the doctor.
