SHILLONG: A landslide occurs along the main highway at Dollonggre, connecting Tura with Paikan, on Friday, temporarily disrupting traffic flow from both ends.

Incessant rains for the past one week and the sheer destruction of the forest cover which has been replaced by areca nut plantations across swathes of land all over Garo Hills have had a devastating impact on the ecology.
