Containment zone period to continue

KHLIEHRIAT: With the Health department exhorting the East Jaintia Hills District Administration to extend the period of containment zone tag in a bid to complete contact tracing of all high-risk and low-risk contacts, the latter on Sunday extended the containment zone tag in the six villages by another 75 hours.
The villages where the period of containment zone tag has been extended are Khliehriat East, Khliehriat West, Dkhiah East, Deinchynrum, Sookilo and Mookympad.
A statement from the EJH District Administration in this regard said that the restrictions will be in effect till 6 am of July 29.
However, the order from the District Administration has allowed locals to purchase essential food items between 9 am to 4 pm on July 27, 28, 29 and 30.
“The business establishments permitted to open from 9 am to 4 pm on July 27, 28, 29, 30 include all fair price shops under NFSA and Non-NFSA for disbursement of rice, all ration shops dealing in food items like rice, dal, potato, onion, oil, sugar, tea, salt and other food items. Also permitted to open on the aforementioned dates and timings are pharmacies. Petrol pump at Deinchynrum shall be open from 7 am to 4 pm,” the statement said.
