Quiz competition
SHILLONG: The Patanjali Yog Samiti & Bharat Swabhiman Trust, Shillong, supported by Yuva Bharat, Shillong, organised an online yoga quiz competition on Sunday. The quiz competition, which was organised for children below 15 years, was participated by 70 people from different parts of the state.

Spitting, urinating in public banned
TURA: In its ongoing bid to check the spread of COVID-19, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Williamnagar Municipal Board has prohibited spitting and urinating in public places, sale of liquor, gutka and tobacco etc. A notification issued in this regard also stated that persons violating the directives will be slapped with a fine of Rs 1000.

WJH fisherman drowns
JOWAI: A fisherman from Darang village reportedly drowned in Umngot River in West Jaintia Hills under Alameen Sub-Division on Sunday evening. Sources from the village informed that the man, identified as Suk Dhar, had gone to the river for fishing, adding that he entered into the river after the hook of his fishing rod got stuck. However, he never came out. The search of the body by Dawki police along with the villagers is under way.
