SHILLONG: The Dorbar Shnong Mawlai Nongpdeng has clarified that the officials of the district administration, especially BDO Mawlai C&RD Block and his team, had already visited the locality and met the members of the Dorbar Shnong.
The Dorbar, in a statement, was referring to the news report in this daily which had quoted a volunteer of the locality.
However, the statement does not mention whether the residents are availing essential commodities or not.
According to the Dorbar, the volunteer of the locality, unknowingly, had alleged that nobody from the district administration had visited the locality, which is incorrect.
However, the volunteer, Kiewshaphrang Kharnaior, who was manning Mawlai Nongpdeng containment zone, informed that he spoke in his personal capacity regarding deficiencies on Tuesday and not as a member of the Dorbar.
During the visit of this reporter to several localities, the volunteers present at the containment zones informed that everything was left to the Dorbars to handle pointing out the lack of coordination between the government and the Dorbar Shnong.
