SHILLONG: The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) MDCs of UDF have written to the KHADC Chief Executive Member to convene an emergency meeting of the Council to discuss the Draft Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) Notification.
The chairman of UDF, Latiplang Kharkongor, and secretary of UDF, Charles Marngar, expressed concern that the Executive Committee of the KHADC has not made any move to call the members and discuss about the draft Bill, which will have implications on the land within the jurisdiction of the Council.
The UDF leaders have suggested the KHADC CEM, Titos Chyne, to convene a meeting as the deadline to send suggestions is August 13.
