Probe into pig deaths in WJH

SHILLONG: The government is awaiting the report of veterinary professionals on suspected cases of African swine fever in the state, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said on Friday.
Talking about measures that have been put in place, Tynsong said the government has already instructed the West Jaintia Hills district veterinary hospital and doctor at Amlarem C&RD Block to remain alert and make themselves available 24×7.
He further informed that training has also already been imparted in Lamen village in West Jaintia Hills where 50 pigs have reportedly died of some disease.
