SHILLONG: Concerned over the free movement of Armed forces personnel in the Anjalee Parking Lot market, the Hill Farmers’ Union (HFU) has offered to even supply their requirements at their doorstep.
The farmers at the market are worried due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases among the personnel.
The general secretary of HFU, Alfondbirth Kharsyntiew said, “Farmers are not comfortable with them entering the market.”
He said that if possible, it would be good for them to not venture out but the goods will be supplied to their camp.
On the other hand, Kharsyntiew said that the wholesale market closes at 2 pm, but local people can buy vegetables and fruits till 6 pm.
