8 more die of COVID-19 in Assam, toll mounts to 140

GUWAHATI: Eight more persons have died of COVID-19 infection in the state on Saturday. The number of deaths due to COVID-19 in the state has gone up to 140

Sharing the information, Assam Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma identified the deceased as Mahan Talukdar (45) and Azizur Rahman (52) of Nalbari; Narayan C Deka (54) and Dulu Paul (50) of Tinsukia; Turab Ali (48) of Morigaon; Late Sufala Gogoi (46) of Kokrajhar; Khanindra Nath (55) of Nagaon and Prakash Jain (60) of Dibrugarh.

Assam reports 2281 new COVID cases

Assam reported 2218 new COVID-19 cases out of 54845 tests conducted in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate has been recorded at 4.04%.

Of the new cases, Kamrup (M) has reported maximum 299 cases, Cachar 165 cases, Nagaon 150 cases and Dibrugarh reported 142 cases.
