DC denies serving poor quality food to patients

NONGPOH: The Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi district, RM Kurbah has refuted the allegations that the District Administration did not provide proper food and essential items to those COVID-19 patients being treated at the Corona Care Center of the district.
Speaking to media persons on Saturday, Kurbah said that the allegations are baseless as the government has provided proper food items as recommended by the dietician which include meat, egg, fruits and also medicines.
‘However, there are few of these patients who wanted luxury and extra items beyond the recommendation, which cannot be accepted and provided to them,’ said Kurbah.

On the other hand, Kurbah also informed that the FIR against nine people who were part of the infamous wedding at Greenwood Resort has already been filed and the investigation in this regard is on. She also informed that till Friday midnight, the number of active cases in Ri Bhoi district is 81 and that till date, 26 has been discharged.
