Hek launches book on tourism

SHILLONG: State Health Minister AL Hek, on Monday, released a book called ‘Western Discovery’, which highlights the tourism potential in the two districts — West Khasi Hills and South West Khasi Hills. It has been authored by Spasterlin Nongrem.
On the day, the health minister released a music album by Banker Kharkongor, which comprises tracks that speak about the importance of wearing masks and following COVID-19 protocols.
Speaking on the occasion, Hek said the book will go a long way in promoting tourism in the state, which has been severely hit by COVID-19.
Also present on the occasion included Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) CEM, Titos Chyne, and the area Rangbah Shnong.
On the occasion, the Rangbah Shnong also felicitated 12 journalists who have been actively working since the beginning of the pandemic.
