Dry day
The Deputy Commissioner (Excise), East Khasi Hills, in an order on Tuesday, declared August 15 as dry day across the district on account of Independence Day. All Bonded Warehouse, IMFL shops etc will remain closed on that day, the order said.

Bars closed
The Commissioner of Excise, Meghalaya, has ordered closure of all IMFL ‘On’ licence (Bar) premises throughout the state from August 1 to 15 (midnight), and until further orders.

Raj Bhavan shut
The Deputy Secretary to the Governor of Meghalaya has informed that in connection with the Independence Day, the Raj Bhavan, Shillong, will not be open for the general public on August 14 and 15 due to the current situation arising out of COVID-19 in Shillong agglomeration.
