NONGPOH: A man was killed in an accident in Ri Bhoi District on Monday evening after losing control of his bike.
The deceased, identified as Arshal Rani hailing from Mawiong Nongneng, was proceeding towards Shillong and on reaching Umeit Umtyrnah of Umroi Bypass, he lost control of his bike while trying to overtake a truck, thereby colliding with a truck coming from an opposite direction.
The body was then rushed to Civil Hospital Nongpoh for autopsy while the truck has been detained.
