Threat to kill
A woman from Amsohtai village, West Jaintia Hills lodged a complaint that on July 10 & 11, her son Omega Shylla (21), in inebriated condition, threatened to kill her with knife/‘dao’.

Icona N Marak lodged a complaint on August 4 that she was being threatened by two persons — Chikam Sangma and Aisha Sangma A’gitok — through Facebook Messenger since July 11.
Assault
On August 10, police received information that Jumbor Rngaid (42) of New Nongstoin, West Khasi Hills, was assaulted by Stralding Lyngkhoi (53) with a ‘dao’. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and later, the medical officer Civil Hospital Nongstoin referred him to a hospital in Shillong.
Two-wheelers stolen
Samurai Singh lodged a complaint that on the intervening night of August 12 & 13, miscreant(s) stole his motorcycle (ML-05Q-7900), which was parked at Garikhana, Shillong.
Vikash of Vodafone Centre, Arbuthnot Road, Laitumkhrah, lodged a complaint that on the intervening night of August 11 and 12, miscreant(s) stole his motorcycle which was parked at Vodafone Centre, Arbuthnot Road, Laitumkhrah, Shillong.
Alim Lyngdoh lodged a complaint that on August 12, circa 2 pm, miscreant(s) stole his single-gear bicycle, which was parked at Police Bazar, Shillong.
Coal quality mismatch
Devendar Bhansal of Star Cement Meghalaya Ltd., Lumshnong, East Jaintia Hills, lodged a complaint that on August 8, four trucks (AS-01LC-6866, NL-02Q-5357, AS-01LC-8426 and NL-02Q-5857) reported at their plant loaded with coal purchased from Coal India Ltd., and dispatched from Star Railway Siding, Sonapur Assam. However, during unloading process, it was observed that the quality of coal is not what was loaded on the trucks from Star Railway Siding.
Break-in
Supriyo Kumar Saha lodged a complaint that on August 11, miscreant(s) broke into his IMFL shop at Mahendraganj Bazar, South West Garo Hills (SWGH) and stole Rs 20,120, beer and IMFL.
Rila Phawa lodged a complaint that on the intervening night of August 8 and 9, while she was out of station, miscreant(s) broke into her rented house at Nongkhyriem, Nongthymmai, Shillong, and stole goods valued around Rs 16,000.
Trading license
Abdul Qayyum lodged a complaint that on March 11, 2020, Md Hassan and his son Md Imran took the complainant’s original Trading License issued by KHADC and failed to return it till date.
Curfew order violation
A complaint was lodged that on August 11, around 9.40 pm, proprietor of Babla Wool Plus, Police Bazar, was found engaging worker/labourer and carrying out repair work in his shop during curfew hours, in violation of the order passed by the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills.
Car not returned
Debashish Nath Laskar lodged a complaint that on August 10, his driver Shyamal Nath took the complainant’s Toyota Etios tourist taxi (ML-05M-0635) to drop passengers from Shillong to Karimganj, Assam, with a promise to return the vehicle within a week’s time, but failed to do so.
Theft of church donation box
Dominic N Sangma, of Garo Hills Catholic Union, Sacred Heart Parish, Williamnagar, East Garo Hills, lodged a complaint that on August 8 night, miscreants stole cash donation box installed at Soil Junction, Williamnagar.
Duped
Mashenbhalang Lyngdoh lodged a complaint that on August 5, on applying for data entry job, advertised by ‘Praxylite Technology Pvt., Ltd., Co’, through OLX, he received one anonymous phone call, wherein the caller informed him that he has been selected and that it was required of him to submit his documents along with a legal agreement, to which he complied. On August 6, he received a phone call from one Deepak Kulkarni, who claimed to be an advocate, and asked him to deposit Rs 20,000 in the account of Daberwala Sahil. Later, the complainant learnt that he has been cheated.
Ibashisha Ritshong lodged a complaint that Harry Robert, whom she befriended online through Facebook, cheated her of Rs 10,22,000 by falsely informing her that he had send 1.5 million pounds through a package.
