SHILLONG/ TURA: As the number of cases keeps up its rising trend, the District Magistrate of East Khasi Hills has declared more areas in the city as containment zones after detecting positive cases/high-risk contacts, while a locality in North Garo Hills and a market in West Garo Hills have also been notified as containment areas.
The containment areas, as notified by the East Khasi Hills District Magistrate, include Naz Hotel and Grace Hotel complex at Bimola Point, Harijan Colony, Mawlonghat, building of S Syiem at New Kench’s Trace, building of D Lamin, Riat Laban East, Madan Laban, building of LB Rapthap opposite Benz Residency, Central Bishnupur and house of Nirbor Kharkongor and Rikynti Kharkongor, Mynsain Neng, Upper Lumparing.
On the other hand, the district magistrate retained Lovely Store at Malki Point and house of Martian Mawthoh at Riat Bharat, Malki Nongshiliang as containment areas.
Haluapara locality
After two persons tested positive for COVID-19 at Haluapara locality of Resubelpara on Thursday night, North Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, SC Sadhu, has declared the entire area under the locality as containment zone for five days.
Order de-notified
The containment order, which was earlier issued for the entire area of Tikrikilla Market, was on Friday de-notified by the West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner.
