SHILLONG: The office of the Chief Commissioner of Income-tax, Shillong organized a webinar on Wednesday on the Faceless Assessment Scheme (FAS), launched on October 7, 2019.
This new Tax initiative is in pursuance with the Budget speech of Finance Minister, Government of India. Titled “Transparent Taxation – Honouring the Honest”, the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on August 13, 2020 launched the platform for implementing the Scheme.
The webinar was hosted by Rahul Karna, Principal Commissioner of Income-tax, Shillong, under the chairmanship of Rajkumar Lachhiramka, Chief Commissioner of Income-tax, to sensitize the various stakeholders of the Scheme and obtain their feedback, queries and suggestions.
In total, there were 136 participants which included officers and officials of the Department and members of various associations of chartered accountants, tax practitioners and Chambers of Commerce from Shilllong, Silchar, Agartala, Dibrugarh and Tinsukia.
