TURA: The Garo Students’ Union (GSU) from Williamnagar along with its Samanda Regional Unit has demanded the immediate appointment of a doctor at Samanda PHC.

In their complaint letter to the District Health and Medical Office (DH&MO), the union informed that people from the area are facing immense hardships during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic due to the unavailability of a doctor at the health centre.

“People are missing their routine check ups for illnesses and other necessary works that could have been provided by the PHC during this pandemic situation have been absent as there is no doctor at the centre. Therefore, we urged you to immediately appoint a doctor at the PHC,” the union requested.
