Govt marks temporary trading points for street vendors

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Government has identified a few places in the city on a temporary basis to accommodate registered vendors and hawkers even as efforts on to find a permanent place to accommodate these street vendors in the city.

Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong on Monday told reporters that the government had   identified few proper places for accommodating vendors and street hawker in Shillong city.

In the review meeting, Urban Affairs Department made a detailed presentation as far as accommodating hawkers are concerned.
