District-level officers’ meet
SHILLONG: Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides organised a three-day Virtual District Level Officers’ Meet-cum-Workshop, focusing with an objective to provide proper information and guidelines for improving the working structure of the district-level officers during the COVID-19 period. The meet, which concluded on September 9, was attended by about 40 members from different districts.The topics that were discussed during the meet were on Duties and Responsibilities, Fund Raising and Financial Policy, Reflections, Prayer and Reports from the Districts, Online Registration, Programme & Planning (Current Projects), Trainings and Regional & National-Level activities. Joint Director of National Headquarters, Amar Chettri, who was invited as the chief guest during the valedictory function, highlighted the importance of Scouts and Guides in the nation-building process.

Pachmarhi Day celebrated
SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides celebrated Pachmarhi Day on Thursday at the State Training Centre, Bharat Scouts and Guides, Umtyngar. Pachmarhi is a station where National Training Centre and National Adventure Institute of Bharat Scouts and Guides are located. During the programme, State Commissioner (S), Kenneth Kharkongor, was present as the chief guest and the Rangbah Shnong, Umtyngar, accompanied as the guest of honour. Plantation of trees and flowers was also carried out at the same location.

Anniv of Vivekananda’s address
SHILLONG: Ramakrishna Mission Shillong celebrated the 127th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago Address with the streaming of 46th Annual Cultural Competition and the launch of the 2nd issue of Ka Jingshai –– a trilingual ezine in Khasi, English and Hindi. Sharad Vivek Sagar, CEO, Dexterity Global, and a youth icon, inaugurated the ezine during the programme. Swami Hitakamanandaji, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Shillong urged everyone to exert themselves to come up with the novel ideas to propagate dynamism and vigour.
