17 Lok Sabha MPs test positive for COVID19

NEW DELHI: Seventeen members of Parliament have tested positive for coronavirus in the mandatory tests that was carried out  before the monsoon session started this morning.

The Lok Sabha members were tested at the Parliament House on September 13 and 14, sources said.

Among the infected MPs, the BJP has a maximum number – 12, the YRS Congress has two MPs, the Shiv Sena, DMK and RLP one each. Meenakshi Lekhi, Anant Kumar Hegde, Parvesh Sahib Singh are a few who have been found infected with the highly contagious viral disease. Among others who tested positive are Hanuman Beniwal, Sukanta Majumdar, Bidyut Baran, Pradan Baruah, Satya Pal Singh, N Redappa, Ram Shankar Katheria, Selvam G, and Janardan Singh.

These results were released after mandatory testings were conducted before commencing the Monsoon session this morning.
