RKM offers free Wi-Fi-based online courses

SHILLONG: At a time when the normal education process is at a standstill due to COVID-19, the Ramakrishna Mission centres -Shillong and Ashrama Sohra – will launch Wi-Fi-based online courses that aim to do away with internet connection and enables students to access the free contents of the online course which are prepare by the Mission.
With the help of a Wi-Fi tower the students will be able to interact with their teachers engaged in the online course, called “HIKAI”, a statement issued here informed.
Calling this an alternative way of providing education, the RKM has said the objective of “HIKAI” is to help students from remotest corner of the state, where internet connectivity is a major issue besides lack of quality teachers. )
The inauguration programme will be held at RKM Secondary School Sohbar on Monday at 12 pm.
Students from surrounding villages will be availing access to the classes through the Wi-Fi arrangement.
The Ramakrishna Mission has also launched online classes for students studying under the MBoSE since the last three weeks.
