SHILLONG: The RT-PCR tests of both Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma and his Deputy, Prestone Tynsong were negative but CM’s bungalow was under scanner after one driver was tested positive for COVID-19.
The private driver in the Chief Minister’s Bungalow was tested positive after which random tests were conducted in the entire compound and results were awaited.
The duo underwent RT-PCR and CBNAAT tests after returning from their trip to New Delhi and Manipur where the Power Minister, James Sangma had tested positive for COVID-19.
It was also informed that the staff of the CMO, who accompanied Conrad, to New Delhi and Manipur have also tested negative in CBNAAT test.
Earlier, DHS (MI) Dr Aman War said that the protocol for Ministers and government officials to remain under quarantine was for seven days.
As far as the case of Power Minister James Sangma was concerned, he said that the case had been registered in Meghalaya.
He also said the contact tracing of the Minister was going on and some close people of the Minister had been tested and more tests are still going on.
