On the occasion of Unitarian Anniversary Day, all state government offices, revenue and magisterial courts and educational institutions in East Khasi Hills will remain closed on September 18, Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, General Administration (A) department, said in a statement.
Unclaimed body
The Joint Director of Health Services (SS), Civil Hospital, Shillong, has informed that an unknown male patient, aged 40 years, has expired on September 9, at 9.25 pm. The official has urged concerned relatives to collect the body of the person from the hospital morgue, failing which, it will be sent for disposal by the Shillong Municipal Board. The patient was admitted in the medical ward of the hospital, bed no. 4, at 4.33 pm on the same day.
Resignation
The president of Shillong Cantonment Board Employees’ Union, RG Pradhan, has tendered his resignation from the post. This was informed by Pradhan in a letter to the general secretary of the Union.
