Ri Bhoi extends curfew
NONGPOH: Ri Bhoi District Magistrate on Wednesday extended the night curfew in the district till September 30. According to a statement, the curfew will be imposed from 9 pm to 5 am every day. The relaxations and restrictions pertaining to the public movement during the curfew hours will remain as per earlier orders. “Vehicle passes between 5 am to 9 pm can be obtained from www.ribhoi.gov.in,” the statement said.

Office-bearers elected
SHILLONG: The MeECL Pensioners’ Association elected its new office-bearers in the general meeting held at Indoor Stadium, MeECL, Lumjingshai, recently. The office-bearers include — Marius Kharkongor as president, OL Warjri as vice president, Thruman M Sangma as general secretary, D Warjri and R Diengdoh as joint secretaries, HAJ Sawian as treasurer and BS Mawlong as chief adviser, besides other executive members.

Christian forum constituted
SHJILLONG: A forum — Meghalaya United Christian Forum — was constituted by the pastors and Lay leaders of various Christian denominations, representing Khasi, Jaintia and Garo communities, on Wednesday.
The office bearers are Batkupar Dunaias as chairman, Tony TC Marak as vice-chairman, Synsharlang Kharshiing as secretary, among others.
