SHILLONG: Mairang MDC Batskhem Ryntathiang, on Thursday, said that attaining nutritional diet is much more difficult for people of rural areas as compared to the urban population.
The MDC was speaking during a function organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), West Khasi Hills, as part of the Poshan Maah celebration, at the Tirot Sing Memorial Hall, Pyndengumiong, Mairang.
Speaking as the chief guest of the occasion, the MDC said, “We, as people who live in remote areas, think that it is difficult to attain a nutritional diet for children, pregnant women and lactating mothers as compared to people who live in urban areas”.
He added that the programme plays a crucial role as it will enable people to understand the importance and ways of getting a healthy and balanced diet with proper guidance and training. Anganwadi workers, ASHAs and farmers participated in the programme.
