CM reviews ADB projects

SHILLONG: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Wednesday reviewed projects under ADB’s Supporting Human Capital Development in the state.
Conrad said that for Project Implementation Unit 1, which includes retrofitting of 117 old school buildings, setting up of ICT, smart classrooms, teachers’ training, 90 per cent physical progress has been achieved.
For Project Implementation Unit 2 concerning skills development, including placement-linked skills development and self-employment, over 13,979 trainees have been trained in the state to date.
For Project Implementation Unit 3 of ADB Project concerning the upgrade of ITIs, 95 per cent of the project has been completed.
As far as Project Implementation Unit 4 is concerned, which includes the construction of 9 ITIs and 2 college of teacher education in Malki and Rongkhon, the chief minister said the project will be completed by December.
