Competition to create awareness on NEP 2020 under way in state

SHILLONG: The Vidhya Bharati Uccha Shiksha Sangathan has kick-started its MyNEP competition in the state in a bid to create awareness among students, teachers and people in general about National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The poster for the competition was released by the North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) Vice Chancellor, Prof SK Srivastava, on Saturday.
As part of the competition, which will conclude on October 2, various competitions in three categories and thirteen languages will be organised online for school, college and university students, and general public.
“Through these competitions and programmes, Vidya Bharti wants to highlight the key features of this education policy, created after the most comprehensive consultation with the general public and the academic community of India, and to ensure the participation of the entire academic community in its effective implementation,” a statement on Saturday said.
Stating that over 7 lakh contestants have already registered for various competitions so far, the statement added that education ministers from various states and esteemed members of academia will be a part of these programmes.
