Three WKH brothers in quest to help disaster victims

NONGSTOIN: Only some days ago the state suffered paramount agony with loss of a number of lives besides property damage. Yes it was difficult but the state and its people are currently healing.
Lately, three brothers from West Khasi Hills turned up in different parts of the district, driven by empathy for hundreds who were affected by flash floods and landslides, to donate essential commodities to those hit by the rain-related disasters recently.
The trio — B Byrsat, N Byrsat and O Byrsat — along with two of their friends from Shillong distributed essential items in Kynshi, Tiehsaw, Upper New Nongstoin, New Nongstoin and Nongstoin village.
The package contained rice, nutritional drinks like horlicks and complan, milk for babies and minors, essential needs and clothing.
Speaking to pressmen here on Tuesday, the Headman of Tiehsaw village, M Dkhar, expressed happiness over the initiative of the brothers. (Seeing the plight of the people in flood and landslide-hit areas through a local YouTube channel and print media, the Byrsat brothers moved to help the affected.
A trail of devastation had struck many parts of the state leading to deaths of at least a dozen persons recently.
A total of 12 lives were lost due to rain-related incidents across Meghalaya, the government had said.
