TURA: After the demand for release of salaries of COVID-19 volunteer workers under the Home Guard department from East Garo Hills was fulfilled on Tuesday, the Achik Youth Council (AYC) from Williamnagar has now urged that the same is done for workers from North Garo Hills.
Earlier, the council had taken up the issue for workers from East Garo Hills and the pending salaries were released on Tuesday.
In their appeal, which was submitted to the North Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, SC Sadhu, the organisation urged that the pending salaries of a total of 59 volunteers from the district be released within 10 days of time.
