Floral tributes
The Chief Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya along with senior officials will pay floral tributes at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Rilang Building, Main Secretariat on October 2 at 10 am.
Dry day
East Khasi Hills and West Jaintia Hills district administrations have declared October 2 as dry day throughout the districts on account of Gandhi Jayanti. All bonded warehouse, IMFL and outstill shops will remain closed on this day, separate orders informed.
Curfew extended
The District Magistrate of Ri Bhoi has extended the night curfew in the district with effect from October 1 to 15 for timings falling between 9 am and 5 am daily. All orders issued earlier with regard to movement of people will remain the same.
