COVID-hit state returnees get NEC balm

SHILLONG: In what can be called succour to the people who returned to the state ever since the menace of COVID-19 cropped up in the country, the Directorate of Commerce and Industries has invited applications for financial assistance under the project Livelihood and Gainful employment funded by the North Eastern Council (NEC).
In a notification, the Director of Commerce and Industries, JL Mawlong, has said that returnees should be entrepreneurs or persons employed in other private enterprises capable of taking up self-employment ventures in manufacturing, services and small business enterprises.
The application forms can either be obtained from the offices of The General Manager District Commerce & Industries centres of respective districts or can be downloaded from the website www.megindustry.gov.in.
Mawlong has informed that application forms should be submitted on or before October 19.
