Book launched on Jala’s first death anniv

SHILLONG: To mark the first death anniversary of Archbishop Dominic Jala, a book on him was released in the city on Saturday.
The, book written in Khasi by Fr. Breson Paul Ranee, was released by Richard Kahit, president of the Synjuk Seng Rangbah Katholik, Shillong.
Copies of the book on late Archbishop are available at Pauline Books & Media Centre, Laitumkhrah, Bosco World Mawlai Motsyiar, LB Stores, Laitkor and other parishes. Meanwhile, a special mass on the first death anniversary of the late Archbishop was organised on Saturday with which was attended by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma along with other ministers and MLAs.
The Archbishop had died in a road accident in US last year.
He took charge of the Archdiocese on 2 April 2000 and at the transfer of Bishop Victor Lyngdoh to the diocese of Jowai in 2016, Archbishop Dominic Jala was also appointed the Apostolic Administrator of the diocese of Nongstoin.
Before being appointed Archbishop, he was the Provincial of the Salesians of Don Bosco of Guwahati Province and was actively involved in all matters connected with the Church in North East India and CBCI.
