State guest
The state government will now accord the status of state guest to retired judges, their spouse and two dependents during their visit to Meghalaya House in Kolkata and New Delhi. Similar provisions will also be extended to former governors and chief ministers.
Roads renamed
The state government has decided to rename Mawlai Bypass Road as ‘Founder Strong Cajee Road’ while the Long Round Road from TSS junction to FCI Godown has been renamed ‘Archbishop Dominic Jala Road’.
Land acquisition
The state cabinet has taken a decision to reduce the administrative cost in land acquisition from 10 per cent to 2.5 per cent.
