MLA distributes essentials to victims of elephant attack

Mawkyrwat: Ranikor MLA, Pius Marwein, on Tuesday distributed ration to the families whose houses in Kalapahar village were destroyed in an elephant attack on Sunday.
Marwein informed that around 55 people were rendered homeless after 12 out of 24 houses were destroyed by the herd of elephants.
It may be mentioned that the people, who are now homeless, are now sojourning at the relief camps at the Community Hall in Kalapahar and Rajai village.
Marwein said that the Sub-Divisional Officer of Ranikor Civil Sub-Division and the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Ranikor C&RD Block will soon gave a report to the state government about the incident.
Marwein also expressed hope that the Revenue & Disaster Management department will soon provide relief to the affected families in the village.
