SHILLONG: The Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have agreed to join forces to avert trans-border crimes along the Indo-Bangla border and also pursue all pending developmental works.
The resolution was taken by both sides during a Nodal Officer-level meeting, which was held on Thursday at Tamabil, Bangladesh.
The BSF delegation was led by DIG UK Nayal, while the delegation of BGB was led by Lt. Col. Abdul Kader Md Ashraf Ali Mamun, BGB, NE Region Sarail.
According to a statement on Thursday, the meeting discussed various border-related issues such as smuggling of cattle, drugs and narcotics, fake currency, among others.
“The construction of ICP Dawki also figured in the discussion between the nodal officers of the two forces. Both sides agreed to jointly prevent trans-border crimes and pursue all pending development works to further strengthen the existing strong relations between the two countries,” the statement said.
