SHILLONG: In a move towards digitisation, the Dorbar Shnong, Nongrim Hills, on Saturday launched the website of the Dorbar, E-Dorbar Software and the Dorbar’s Mobile App.
Congress MLA, Nongthymmai Constituency, Charles H Pyngrope, who was present on the occasion, said this is an era of online marketing where youths can make a livelihood for themselves and refrain from indulging themselves in the activities which are detrimental to the society.
Citing an example of Swiggy, he said that many youths from the city and Nongthymmai are eking out a livelihood by working for the online food company.
He said the era of shopping malls is over in the country as almost 80 per cent of the shopping malls are closed.
“Why I objected the construction of shopping mall at Barik because we don’t need a shopping mall,” Pyngrope said.
During the programme, East Khasi Hills DC, Isawanda Laloo, and East Jaintia Hills DC, Ethelbert Kharmalki, graced the occasion as guests of honour.
