HYC moves WKH DC over PDS anomalies
NONGSTOIN: At a time when the needy are struggling for food supplies due to the pandemic situation, one fair price shop in Mawmluh-1 under Nongstoin Block, West Khasi Hills, has been reportedly embezzling the free supplies meant for the underprivileged sections of the society. This case of misappropriation came to light after the HYC, Mawmluh-1 Unit, along with the card holders moved the West Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner, alleging that the dealer has been charging an additional amount from the beneficiaries and has also been fiddling with the weights. They also alleged that people were subjected to hurdles as the dealer distributed the rice at Rambrai market and not at the respective villages. The HYC has, meanwhile, demanded action against the dealer, warning that if the issue is not resolved, the organisation will be ready to file a petition in the court.
