SHILLONG: The KHADC remembered veteran politician late HS Shylla during its ongoing session here and observed a moment of silence for the departed soul. Council CEM Titos Chyne recalled Shylla as a man who inspired people with his speeches, while independent MDC PN Syiem said that Shylla has contributed immensely to the society and done things which are memorable such as rewarding households that have huge number of family members.
Congress MDC Ronnie Lyngdoh said Shylla was a man who wore many hats – a student leader, a politician and a religious leader.
Calling Shylla a mysterious man, nominated MDC Bindo Lanong recalled the times when he had threatened to arrest those who opposed uranium mining but added that he, however, changed his stand on uranium mining later.
