SHILLONG: A team led by USTM Chancellor M Hoque along with Advisor RK Sharma met Governor Satya Pal Malik at Raj Bhavan here on Tuesday and conferred about the university’s state of affairs.
Following the felicitation of Malik by the chancellor of USTM, Hoque apprised the former of the progress and performance of the university.
The governor also took stock of the research activities being carried out by the university.
Acknowledging the achievements in the field of education by the university in the North East, Malik assured of extending any kind of support to the USTM during his tenure.
The meeting also discussed about the ensuing 6th Convocation of the USTM where the governor, who also happens to be the Visitor of the University, has given his consent to grace the event and confer the degrees.
The 6th Convocation of USTM is likely to be conducted in the first half of December.
