Police in WJH celebrate Children’s Day with orphans

JOWAI, Nov 14: The Office of the Superintendent of Police, West Jaintia Hills, on Saturday celebrated Children’s Day with orphans at North East India Mission Association (NEIMA) and Sacred Heart SD Convent at Sahsniang, West Jaintia Hills.
WJH SP, Bikram D Marak, Deputy SP (Hq) MJ Marngar, Deputy SP (Crime) CW Lyngdoh among others were present during the celebration.
Twenty-two children at NEIMA and nine children at Sacred Heart Convent were presented with gifts while donations were also made to the two orphanages.
Speaking at the gathering, Marak said, “We decided to celebrate the day in honour of the children of NEIMA and Sacred SD Convent.”
Meanwhile, Lyngdoh spoke on the rights and education of children.
“You must work hard in your studies and aim higher,” Lyngdoh said, adding that everyone must have an aim in life. “Unless you have an aim in life, you are like a ship without a compass and you are sure to get lost,” she added.
