Magistrate extends prohibitory order in EKH

Shillong, Nov 15: The district magistrate East Khasi Hills on Saturday has issued an order to extend prohibitory order under section 144 CrPC in the district till November 22 from 5 am to 11 pm daily as measures to contain the spread of COVID-19.
The order also prohibited all forms of large public gathering and congregation including social, political, entertainment, academic, cultural, etc, without permission from the office of district magistrate, East Khasi Hills.
Social distancing, wearing of mask and all protocols must be strictly followed in public places the order state.
Spitting and consumption of liquor, paan, gutka, tobacco, etc. in public places is also prohibited.
The public also must strictly comply without fail to the measures mandated for containment areas declared.
Any individual,
group seeking to organise any function, meeting, ceremony or event may applied to the office of the district magistrate, East Khasi Hills and subject to the ceiling limit of 50 attendees or one third the capacity of the venue.
Religious places and places of worship of all faiths are permitted to reopen subject to compliance to the standard operating procedures laid down by the government in the notification issued earlier.
Schools will be permitted to open for activities such as teacher- student counseling, clearing doubts, addressing hard spots, sharing unit, lesson plans, assignments, submission of works, students assessment programme etc., as per guidelines issued by the Education Department.
For funeral and last rites related gatherings, the number of attendees must not exceed 50 and wedding ceremonies will be allowed in compliance with standard operating procedures.
Senior citizens, pregnant women and children below the age of ten are advised to stay indoors.
Private and public transport will operate in the district as per order issued earlier.
Inter-district movement of persons is permitted and interstate movement will be strictly as per instruction of the government and all persons entering the state will have to mandatorily register for testing @http://meghalayaonline.gov.in/covid/testing.htm
