Dohling underlines aims of central, state govt to provide housing facilities

SHILLONG, Nov 24: C&RD Minister Hamletson Dohling on Tuesday highlighted the aims of the central and state governments to ensure that all eligible Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) beneficiaries are provided housing facilities under the scheme.
Dohling was speaking as the chief guest at a programme at Jatalong VEC, Bhoirymbong C&RD Block. The programme was held as part of the Awaas Diwas and Awaas Week celebration.
The programme was attended by PMAY-G beneficiaries from around 14 VECs and locals from nearby villages.
Dohling, during the programme, informed about the benefits that can be availed by the beneficiaries.
The minister also urged all village heads and the attendees to coordinate and build a rapport with officials for the smooth implementation of the programme.
He also exhorted the beneficiaries to approach officials for assistance and clarification with if there are doubts pertaining to the scheme implementation.
An inspection of one of the houses, which was constructed under the PMAY-G, was also conducted.
During the end of the programme, one MGNREGA footpath, which was constructed for Rs 7.86 lakh, was also inaugurated.
