TURA, Nov 25: A recently formed educational body has urged the state government to back-pedal on its decision to not conduct selection tests for classes X and XII.
In its memorandum to Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, the educational body — Education Forward, 2020 – called for the conduct of selection tests for classes X and XII in the respective schools during January or February.
It also beseeched the chief minister to conduct pre-board test before the final examinations, so as to ensure better performance from students in boards.
In addition, several other issues pertaining to education scenario in Garo Hills were also raised by the educational body.
Pointing out that various posts are lying vacant in the Education department, the body also sought an immediate appointment of DSEOs and SDSEOs in the Garo Hills.
