School building inaugurated in EGH

WILLIAMNAGAR, Nov 26: Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma today inaugurated the newly constructed building of Rongrenggre Model Deficit Secondary School at Chidekgre near Williamnagar.
Inaugurating the school building built at a cost of Rs 1.6 crore, the chief minister lauded the HSCL for completing the construction within a short span of time and said that the government’s first priority is to bring about a holistic improvement in the education scenario in the state.
In this regard, the chief minister said that Rs 500 crore has been earmarked for the Education department. In addition, the Centre has given Rs 800 crore for construction of Ekalavya Model Residential Schools. He also informed that a special grant of Rs 200 crore has also been received from the Centre for improving education infrastructure in the state.
He further informed that the scholarship for the students in the state have also been enhanced and said that the Youth Policy will be finalised by January next year to promote the skill and talent of the youth.
Speaking on the occasion, Williamnagar MLA, Marcuise N Marak lauded the school management for the efforts to uplift the school and urged the students to bring name and fame for their school.
Earlier, the welcome address was delivered by the President of the school PG Momin and the vote of thanks was proposed by the Headmaster, Robinus T Sangma.
