Hek inaugurates Syntung sub-centre

SHILLONG, Nov 27: Health Minister AL Hek, on Friday, inaugurated the Syntung Health Sub-Centre in Syntung village under Mawkynrew C&RD Block with the objective of making healthcare easily accessible to people.
Speaking during the inauguration programme, Hek said that Syntung Health Sub Centre will make healthcare more accessible to people in the rural areas, especially women, who will be sensitised on improving health habits and advise on family planning so as to reduce maternal mortality rate and infant mortality rate. He urged the people to exploit the facilities being provided the available in the Centre.
Earlier, Dr MR Basaiawmoit, DM&HO of East Khasi Hills, in his speech, informed that the Syntung Health Sub-Centre under Jatah PHC will benefit more than 4,000 residents of five villages including Syntung, Mawjatap, Siangkhnai, Mawlang and Nonghulew.
